5 Days Chimpanzee Trek & Gorilla Safari in Uganda
The 5 days Uganda primates safari goes to Kibale National Park for chimpanzees, birds and other primates, then to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for mountain gorilla tracking experience.
5 Days Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park (7hrs)
Breakfast in Kampala, drive to Kibale National Park via Mubende highway, lunch en-route, dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Forest Camp.
Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking or habituation Experience
Enjoy morning chimps tracking or habituation experience, and evening walking safari to Bigodi swamps or crater lakes region. All meals and overnight as on day 1.
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Breakfast and enjoy a picnic drive through Rwenzori mountains and Queen Elizabeth National Park, arrive by late afternoon, dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Rest Camp, Broadbill Forest Camp or Ruhija Community Rest Camp.
Day 4: Gorilla Tracking or Habituation Experience
You can choose gorilla tracking in Buhoma or Ruhijah sectors. The activity takes 1 – 6 hours in the search for the gentle giants in the jungle. You spend 60 minutes with the gorillas.
If you want more time with the gorillas, choose gorilla habituation experience where you can spend up to 4 hours with the mountain gorillas in the jungle. This activity is available in Rushaga sector.
Day 5: Reserved for Departure
Breakfast followed by transfer back to Kampala (9hrs) or, cross the border to Kigali – Rwanda through Cyanika borders (3hrs) where the tour ends.
End of the Tour
